Motorized Madness Ball Machine

Updates to Instructions

Page 11, Steps 13 & 14 - Do not get confused by all of the arrows. Just follow each rod line through to make sure all the pieces are attached correctly.

Page 19, Steps 19-26 - You may need to unsnap other rods from connectors to get the cross-snapped orange rods on first and then attach the rest of the rods.

Page 29, Step 48 - If the piece is wobbly, be sure to watch where the parts attach.

Page 34 - It may be hard to see, but you need to add three orange rods to the model at this point in the instructions.

Page 37, Steps 63 & 64 - These sections form two vertical triangles. Just keep building, because even though the angles may not look right on the page, they will turn out right as you build. Just watch where the rods fit into the blue connectors.

Page 39, Step 66 - In the shaded area, a yellow connector is being added to the model. Please ignore this image as the yellow connector was already added on page 34, step 56. In addition, the connector is shown in the wrong position - it should have already been attached to the tower during step 56.

Page 61, Step 118 - The red connectors and light gray connectors may need to be adjusted by sliding them back and forth on the red rod that the ball lands on the 2.0" hub.

Page 68, Steps 131 & 132 - Be sure that the red connector is centered on the chain link so that additional links can hook in properly. Three chain links used to make the pick-ups is not counted in the X-10 and X-11 strands of chain. Step 131 actually uses 13 pieces of chain, and Step 132 uses 14 pieces of chain.

Page 73, Step 131 and following - Attaching the fluorescent yellow K'NEX to straight micro straight connectors to each track piece (there should be 22 in the set) is a very tight snap. This is normal in order to keep the track pieces in place. In Step 142, this connection to the main structure may strain slightly - this is also normal.

(NOTE: Be aware that there is a difficult cross-snap involved whenever a fluorescent yellow micro straight connector is attached to the flexi green rods, which are part of the new track pieces.)

General Building Tips

Orientation of connectors - Pay close attention to the orientation of the connectors on each page. Certain connection points not used on one page may be used later in the construction.

Construction of model - Follow each page consecutively. In certain spots, the building steps may not seem to make sense, but by following page-by-page, the model will come together.

Putting on the track - Use Pages 4, 87 and 88 for reference as you construct each part of the track.

Operation of machine - Balls may occasionally fall of the track - this is normal.
