When did you start building with K'NEX?
I started building with the Kid K'NEX when I was four years old.
How did you come up with the idea for your winning model?
We have a foosball table at home, and I always play it with my friends. So I thought it would be fun to try to build one out of K'NEX that we could play.
What has been your most challenging K'NEX creation?
My cousin gave me his old Cyber K'NEX kit. The remote controls and motors made everything more complex! Programming my model to do what I wanted it to do was also difficult. It was so cool when I got it to work!
Do you have a favorite past K'NEXpert? If so, who?
I don't have a favorite. They were all good!
How many siblings do you have? What are their age(s) and gender(s)?
I don't have any brothers or sisters.
Do they build with K'NEX too? Do you build models together?
I don't have any brothers or sisters, but I used to build a lot of things with my friends when we went to after school daycare.
What are your favorite hobbies (besides building with K'NEX)?
I like to design and build all kinds of things using any materials that I can find. I also like to take things apart. I like to read, and I play soccer and run cross-country in school.
What is your favorite subject in school?
Science.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
What is the coolest part about being a 2012 K'NEXpert?
Lots of people saw my model and congratulated me. I like that I'll be able to share my other creations on the K'NEX website and visit the K'NEX headquarters someday. The prizes are awesome!
What advice do you have for other kids who want to be K'NEXperts?
Believe in yourself and don't give up. Make a plan and work on one part at a time. If you sort your pieces ahead of time, then you'll know what you have to work with and not try to build something too big.
