When did you start building with K'NEX?
When I was about 3, I started to build with KID K’NEX.
How did you come up with the idea for your winning model?
I started out by building a truck and I only got part way through it before I decided to quit and do a different model. I then decided to make a game. I started out with checkers and decided I’d rather do chess.
What has been your most challenging K'NEX creation?
This model, because I had to come up with the idea and then I had to build the creation.
Do you have a favorite past K'NEXpert? If so, who?
No, I haven’t really paid attention to past K’NEXperts.
How many siblings do you have? What are their age(s) and gender(s)?
I have 2 brothers, one older and one younger. The younger one is 9 and the older one is 16.
Do they build with K'NEX too? Do you build models together?
My older brother used to but no longer does and my little brother still builds with K’NEX. We have done a few models like a Ferris Wheel with instructions and my little brother also entered the K’NEXpert Contest.
What are your favorite hobbies (besides building with K'NEX)?
I like to build plastic model airplane kits, fly R/C airplanes, and drive R/C cars. I also am a Boy Scout, in the Civil Air Patrol, and play baseball and currently am participating in wrestling at my school.
What is your favorite subject in school?
Math or Science.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a Pilot in the Air Force.
What is the coolest part about being a 2013 K'NEXpert?
The Prizes and the chance to get a tour of the factory.
What advice do you have for other kids who want to be K’NEXperts?
If you don’t like how your first project is looking or looks, start over with a fresh idea until you decide that you like your final outcome.
